Diani - Colobus Conservation - Kongo River - Return
Your day begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel or residence in Diani, followed by a short drive to the Colobus Conservation Centre. Established to protect the endangered Angolan colobus monkey and other primates of the Kenyan coast, the centre offers a fascinating educational experience.
During your guided tour, you will learn about the work being done to conserve coastal wildlife, including primate rehabilitation, habitat protection, and community education programs. You will have the opportunity to observe colobus monkeys, baboons, and other primates in their natural habitat and learn about the unique biodiversity of Kenya's south coast.
After the conservation centre visit, you will proceed to Diani Beach for some relaxation and leisure time. Enjoy the pristine white sandy beach and turquoise Indian Ocean waters, take a refreshing swim, or simply relax under the coastal sun. Lunch can be enjoyed at one of the beachfront restaurants (at your own cost).
In the late afternoon, you will head to the Kongo River for a relaxing sunset cruise. The Kongo River flows through lush mangrove forests and offers a serene setting for wildlife spotting, birdwatching, and enjoying the spectacular coastal sunset. You may spot various bird species and other wildlife along the riverbanks as you cruise gently toward the river mouth where it meets the ocean.
After the sunset cruise, you will be transferred back to your hotel or residence in Diani, marking the end of a memorable coastal day filled with wildlife, beach time, and natural beauty.
